i've been thinking lately on what kind of stuff and renovation i would like for my lwb.. especially since the day i attended the defensive driving training.. it helped me a lot to realize that my car was missing several relevant safety devices.. ok then, let's make a list..
a. first stage
1. repair the brake system (put it back to original state)- done
2.total re-wiring.. the wiring condition now is far from ideal.. especially under the hood! - done
3. install a reversing light - done
4. repair the carburetor - done. new carb
5. fix the indicators
6. Rearrange the leaf springs (this will include grinding to get rid off the rust and painting it)
b. second stage
1. cargo barrier or something like a dog guard would do
2. roll bar/cage made of at least a sch40 steel dia1.25"
3. snorkel
4. fitting a bigger alternator (already bought a 110A to replace the current 70A)
5. battery (bought a 100ah to replace the current 70ah) and will make a new battery box located in the cargo cabin (behind the 2nd passengers seat)
6. build some drawers/stowage in the back
7. new seat covers
8. build a cubby box with a slot for ipod, cb radio, drink holders
9. install a metal air blower bracket at the back to rotate the flow of the a/c
10. buy a decent carpet (currently only some sort of plastic rubber mat glued onto the floor
i'll keep you posted with the latest news.. don't hesitate to comment.. anything would be appreciated!.. i'm a newbie still need lots of advice..
by the wat, you must be wondering why i haven't done anything on the bodywork? the condition is still okay.. only the paint looks old and cracked.. but that's the way i want it to be.. don't judge a book by its cover, isn't it?..
