Desert Rat

Akhirnya selesai juga ngecat mobil ala desert rat.. Bullbar sudah dipasang dan dudukan ban serep juga.. Semua dicat warna chamonix (kecuali ban tentunya), agar tampilan desert vehicle nya lebih menonjol.. Yang masih kurang adalah roofrack.. Saya sedang mencari roofrack yang bentuknya bagus dan tentu harga sesuai dengan kantong he he..

carsia and windows

Hari ini dapet motret satu gambar yang lumayan bagus lagi.. ternyata si Carsia (anak perempuan saya) itu lumayan narsis kalau sudah dekat jendela dan lihat bapaknya megang kamera. Langsung dia berpose di jendela dan ga mau bergerak.. kebetulan banget lah.. kan motret anak kecil memang tidak mudah.. tapi kalau si anak senang difoto pasti akan lebih mudah untuk si fotografernya.. ini hasilnya..

MBP goes Black!

Sedih.. Sudah sejak 3 hari ini layar macbook pro saya hitam (mati) tapi mesin tetap nyala.. aneh.. akhirnya kemarin saya bawa juga ke tempat servis.. katanya si Sofyan terakhir ada kasus seperti ini memakan biaya yang menguras kantong yaitu sebesar US$800.. wah Rp 8 Juta!!!! dengernya aja udah semaput.. well saya berharap saja mudah-mudahan vonis dari dokter mengatakan masih bisa diperbaiki dengan ongkos yang bersahabat.. karena 800 itu hampir sama dengan harga macbook white 2GHz yaitu US$940. Tapi bingung juga kalo ga dibenerin sayang juga dimana kapasitas MBP sebenarnya jauh lebih cepat dari MB.. ya mudah-mudahan saja.. dan kalau sampai harus ganti Logicboard (800 dolar itu) juga mudah-mudahan ada uluran tangan dari Tuhan.. karena dari laptop saya bisa mengais rejeki..

Atau beli imac lah kalo ada rejeki biar adik-adik dan istri saya juga bisa ikut memakai dan menikmati.. AMIN!

A day for 40D

Hari 40D.. baru sadar ternyata teknik fotografi bisa seluas itu setelah browsing di flickr.. btw anda bisa lihat flickr saya http://www.flickr.com/photos/greenlaners/


Sore hari ini jam 3 saya mulai ke luar (ke kebun).. ternyata banyak juga object yang bisa difoto.. dan matahari pas lagi bagus juga.. setelah mengambil beberapa gambar saya masuk kembali untuk meng-edit gambar-gambar itu menggunakan software favorit terbaru saya : Aperture 2.


Sekian lama absen dari dunia jepretan rasanya senang juga akhirya bisa motret lagi.. apalagi dengan software baru ini + CS3 hehe.. serasa Dewa Foto bisa berekspresi sesuai dengan keyakinan sendiri hehe.. (emangnya agama?!?..) anyway here I attached couple of them.. I think they are quite nice!..


Rencananya si Dion ngajakin motret hari minggu di kota tua.. ada warna apa aja ya disana? karena dibayangan saya kota tua itu lumayan lifeless dan colourless tapi yang menarik adalah sisi umur dari obyek disana yang mungkin penuh karat dan lumut.. ga tau deh karena saya sendiri belum pernah ke kota tua..

Infrared Effect Test

Iseng banget nih.. daripada ngerombak 40D gue mending ngerombak gambar di photoshop.. ya masih lumayan jauh sih dari bila langsung jepret pakai infrared DSLR, tapi at least ada yang lucu dan menyegarkan di gambar ini, terutama warna-warna tanaman yang tidak biasanya...

Mobil Dwiko muke butut

Mobilnya dwiko tuh udah dicuci bolak-balik, mulai dari pake rinso pake kit autowash, tetep aja butut tampangnya.. emang mobil perang kali ye?.. paling ngga tapi dalemannya udah kinclong.. ga ada puntung-puntung rokok atau dedaunan kering disana-sini.. bravo series II !!

Weekend Trip

Trying to get some sleep.. This weekend trip... what about it? jadi ga ya?.. udah siap-siap tau-tau ada panggilan kerjaan.. Shall I say let's make it tentative.. but still the preparation must go on..

trail day

capek sih badan memeang sehabis round trip dari TGB.. tapi daripada ga produktif saya dan bismo memutuskan untuk jalan2 naik motor trail... kita jalan ke situpiit lalu setelah itu mutar-muter gak karuan sampe capek lalu istirahat di sirkuit salabintana sambil main-main dan menunggu kiki si tour guide datang.. setelah kiki datang lalu kita jalan lagi.. dan bener aja si kiki jalan ngebut banget sampe kita susah mengikutinya.. tapi overall it was a very fun day.. walaupun saya jatuh 2 kali.. hehe

bertiga sama bismo dan uday.. brangkat jam 10 sampe sukabumi jam 10 lagi.. upload gambar langsung dari TGB.. setelah diupload.. foto yang katanya ditunggu2 banget itu sampe gue harus brangkat pagi, setelah diupload ternyata ga ada komen seperti biasa.. GA ADA APRESIASI sama orang yang udh buang tenaga kesana.. emang orang ga pada punya etika kali ya?.. hehe take it easy mate.. ya sudah yang penting kewajiban sudah dijalankan..

Gua Siluman Enduro Motorbike Trip

This is the day I first try offroad touring trip on a motocross!.. It was an endless exhausting moments.. I was not used to motorbikes.. it really was a physical to the max day.. I was so exhausted but it all was worth it.. I got to the places where cars couldn't go.. I see what most people don't see.. It's the advantage of a motorbike.. small and you could practically go anywhere!.. It was a test too for your mental stability to handle any obstacles while you are exhausted.. NICE!!!!

Labu's First Test Drive

Alfa just finished restoring his series 2A 1962 Land Rover Short Canvas and wanted to give it a go at Pondok Cabe.. So I accompanied him along with Getek (nicky).. During this day we had many trouble with Alfa's carburettor and my battery.. We got stuck for several hours in the mudbogger and waited until someone rescued us.. there was nothing we could do because alfa's landy won't start in a tilted position and I could not recover his car because mine was stuck in the mudhole with no battery for the winch.. what a day.. what a muddy day.. got mud?

River at Leuwiliang

It was a lazy sunday morning when Deni a guy from Jeepsi Sukabumi called me and asked whether I want to join him "ngaliwet" and doing some light offroad.. what we found was nice.. a place where there was not many people and nice looking stream from Cimandiri river.. The river bed was rocky which makes it hard for us for wading..

This the day.. Mostly come from West Java but there were also couple from outside Java.. You can judge the competition from the pics.. The Winner is Mr. Djoko Jangkrik.. again.. good one sir!

Scrut Day

All cars followed the standard scrutineering procedure.. including my car.. although I was not in for the open class (since I had no rollbars/rollcages).. The far left green land rover belongs to Pak Tony, middle one is Pak Haris' and far right is mine.

SS Trial at Kemuning

One day before the "Danalaga Track Of The Champions Offroad" started, we had the chance to try out some tracks for open class.. (during the event itself we were not allowed to participate in the open class due to the lack of safety devices). The track was categorized as extreme, as you see in the pic.. we got stuck and had to be pulled using a PTO winch..

Too much to be true

I'm pretty sure all of you sometimes think about what to do next to your ride.. Unless if you really don't mind the factory fresh look on yopur ride.



Well I thought first I want to swap the engine into some v8 or more precisely a stage one V8. Then I thought I also need a locker but then I thought if I installed the permanent one I might as well just weld it.. Then I thought I won't need it yet concerning the tight budget. When the V8 was in front of my nose, I suddenly changed my mind.. Oh I like my standard engine better.. Never gonna need the power of v8 anyway.. So I think I cancelled the v8 and start looking for a diesel engine.. 15BT should do it.. After that I start thinking of installing a roll cage and doing other nitty gritty stuff..



I really am confused.. I think I would just leave the engine just like that, an original series II.. Need some checking on the clutch plate though.. And that clicking sound from either the gearbox or transfercase..



What I need is a winch (just a cheap one, won't do any extreme offroading yet) and a roll cage for the sake of safety and a seatbelt maybe?.. Yes, definitely.. And ofcourse I need to change the body mounting and reinstalled all the loose bolts 'coz I can't stand the sound of aluminium mixed with steel clanking everywhere..



Oh and today I changed the rear shock absorber.. I really like driving my series II now.. As comfortable as riding on clouds (exaggeration)...

Liftjack to the rescue

The carpenter had difficulties lifting the broken roof.. Gladly we had a lift jack!..

One confusing night

Nothing to do... So I called my boys.. Irvan and kiki join me with uday.. Went out around sukabumi with no exact destination.. Ended up killing about 10 bottles of beer.. Now at home and hungry.. At this time in sukabumi you will never find anything to eat.. :(

Bumpy road test

Ok it's worth the time and energy replacing the shock absorber. I only changed the front pair, the rear will be done tomorrow.



I changed it into aftermarket kayaba brand which I haven't got any clue how long it will last the trips we will go to, but point is, it's working my series II is closer to my comfy series III. If it doesn't last long, I would have to buy pair of rancho....

Had oxtail soup for lunch.. Nice.. But not as nice as what we found parked next by... A series I..

Shock absorber replaced

A lovely warm day in Sukabumi. My office hasn't decided for me whether I could go back or not. So instead of doing nothing I had my shock absorber replaced with Uday's help ofcourse.



It has been quite a bumpy ride (it was like on those wood wagon actually). I rolled and checked the leaf springs couple of days ago and turned out they were still okay. So it must be the shock absorber.



Now I'm going to test them.

Reverse Low

Just a tryout on low gear, reverse trying to get my series II 1961 up the slope. It didn't work though.. The ground was to slippery and I didn't had my simex ET on. The location was at a tea plantation in Salabintana. Foggy afternoon after a rainy day.

1105 m

Today we decided to check some new route from Cijangkar to Gegerbitung (Nyalindung, Sukabumi). It started off with about a kilometre of rocky road then mud. Some great ascending road to crawl on but it had been touched by the villagers (sigh.. Another bumpy rocky road).



The water lane was great though! Neither too deep or too much.. So we had our land rovers dancing their feet..

The view was breathtaking.. It was 1105m high.. We were as high as the clouds.. The landscape was like a massive green carpet, and the air was fresh too ofcourse.



We ate lunch in one of the villagers house. Today's menu was : nasi liwet + ikan asin + sambel ijo freshly cooked. Yummy..



Overall, this track is good for family adventure light offroad trips. No winch required, road is wide and wonderful view. Takes around 3 hours from start to finish.

My Precious

Ok.. I have travelled not so far and deep into the unexplored world compared to the great explorer.. But I travel a lot especially on my Land Rover and you can guess that most of my trip would be greenlaning or mud bathing.



I work in a mining consultant company, I guess that would be the reason that I've spent most of my time travelling from one area of survey to another, although not most of the trips I had done involving work. Sometimes I got a day break, that is the time to jalan-jalan (travel).

This is a pic taken at my daughter's 1st birthday party at kentucky kemang.. and my wife next to me.. Love 'em!

Bulkaken

Setelah 2 hari bekerja di Tegalbuleud kami (tim kantor TSS) menyempatkan diri untuk membuang penat dengan offroad ringan di pantai belakang kantor kecamatan atau yang biasa disebut pantai bulkaken.. dan benar saja, tidak lama bermain-main setelah itu kami disambut oleh sunset yang super indah dan keren.. majestic and breathtaking view...
